JC Bordelet makes fireplaces that hang. Suspended from the ceiling or standing free in the middle of the floor, they are as much sculpture as heating appliance, and they are the pieces people come to us for when the fire is meant to be the subject of the room.
They also ask more of the installation than a stove against a wall. Ceiling fixing, flue routing, clearances, floor protection : this is exactly the kind of job where it helps that the people advising you are the ones who will build it, and who will come back to sweep it afterwards.
