Verandas, roof windows, tall glass partitions : the panes that matter most for daylight are usually the ones that are hardest to get to. We have the poles, the lift and the purified water system for all of them.
Frames and sills are wiped down as part of the job. We work inside and out in the same visit so you see the result the way it will actually stay.
01 Windows, roof windows and frames
Our services include the cleaning of windows and roof windows, frames included. By regularly removing dirt, dust and deposits, these areas stay clean and functional.
The frame is not an extra. A clean pane in a dirty frame is a half-finished job, and what sits in the frame is what runs back down the glass at the first rain.
Roof windows are done on both faces. They show every mark, because what you look at through them is the sky, and they are the first glass in the house to go green where a slope is shaded.
02 Height, and how we get to it
We take care of areas that are often difficult to reach in everyday life, and where thorough cleaning can make an important contribution to maintaining the value of the property.
Gable windows, roof lights over a stairwell, the tall glass of a veranda: these let the most light into a house and get cleaned the least, because reaching them takes equipment rather than a ladder and a free afternoon.
We spend our working days on roofs. Height is not the difficult part of this job for us – it is the ordinary part, and it is the reason the panes you cannot reach are the ones worth calling us for.
03 Purified water, and why there are no marks
Tap water carries dissolved minerals. They are invisible in the water and perfectly visible on the glass once it has dried, which is why a window can look worse in low sun after cleaning than it did before.
Purified water has had them taken out. It lifts the dirt, it is rinsed off, and it dries on its own without a mark and without detergent – so nothing is left on the glass for the next fortnight of dust to fasten onto.
04 Inside and out, in the same visit
A pane has two faces and only one appearance. Clean one of them and you are left guessing which side the remaining mark is on, usually from the wrong side of it.
Doing both in one visit settles that, and it puts the frames, the sills and the seals under our eyes from both directions while we are there. Where a seal has gone or a hinge is dropping, you hear about it from us before you hear about it from the weather.

Prices include VAT. Anything beyond a standard visit is quoted at a fixed price before we start.

A glass entrance canopy, and windows done from the inside. Seen from above, the canopy was speckled grey, with debris and moss banked along the wall edge and a dead leaf sitting where the rain had left it. Cleaned, you can read the house number on the wall through it.
